I always think of Easter not as a time for giving or for taking. It is a time for making a personal sacrifice no matter how small. A time for seeing good in others. A time for doing good by others. One small gesture of kindness can make such a difference to those who receive your kindness. I sometimes think that organised religion has got it all wrong. We do and think bad of others and yet we can repent our sins at confession and all is well. I know of people who think bad of everyone and never offer their hand in kindness or forgiveness. Yet they are convinced that by confessing their uncharitable thoughts and deeds are cleansed. |
